I was asked to design the communications level 1 manual for teaching people with social, leaning and mental disabilities. I researched to inform my design choices. It had to be easily understandable and hold their attention, catering to their needs with out being insulting or talking down to them. It is currently being implemented across two counties under the A.B.E. Adult Basic Education program. Below are a couple of pages from it.
