I was asked by the KWETB Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board, to make some posters for two awards nights they were holding. It was to celebrate some students graduating and others receiving awards. The two nights covered a wide and varied variety of courses. The posters I created tried to combine education with elegance.
The work was created in illustrator. The symbols in the sphere relate to the different courses and level of education at the centre. Using rich painted colours and a gradient I was able to blend the symbols with the white space. Then using black or blue I made the information and a couple of other elements clearly visible. This layering played with the foreground and background. Along with the colour choices and use of white space is what gaves these posters an elevated elegant feel. Especially when the courses deal with messy topics like healthcare and horticulture.
